Dead pixel questions
What is the difference between a dead and a stuck pixel?
A dead pixel stays black on every color because its transistors never light up. A stuck pixel glows in one fixed color, usually red, green or blue, and sometimes unstucks after hours of color cycling.
Which colors reveal defects best?
Black hides nothing dark but exposes bright stuck dots; white exposes dark dead dots. Red, green and blue isolate each subpixel, so a flaw visible in only one of them is a single-subpixel defect.
Do the markers change my screen?
No. Markers are just numbered pins stored on this page so you can compare positions across colors. Clearing them or closing the tab removes everything.
